The Pumice Flat Trail is a seldom hiked trail located within Crater Lake National Park. It begins from Crater Lake Highway just south of Mazama Village. The trail primarily serves as a connector trail that leads to the Pacific Crest Trail, but it can also be done as a standalone hike, including the option to continue onto Stuart Falls.

You’ll begin by crossing the highway and then traveling generally westward along the trail. You’ll gain elevation as you hike, but it is very gradual with hardly any noticeable climbs.

The trail stays tucked within the forest most of the way, without any stellar views.

At 3 miles in you’ll reach the junction with the PCT. Hiking just south of here leads to some views, or you can continue west to Stuart Falls.

Once you reached your destination, return the way you came.
