The Bald Mountain trail is located in Lehigh Gorge State Park. It is relatively level hiking through an old growth forest along a wide forest road.  It is very picturesque the entire route with a few vista views of the Lehigh river near the end.

From the parking are, follow the forest road through a gate.  Remain on this trail for two miles.  At the two mile mark, the trail spolts and is well marked.  This is the start of the Bald Mountain loop.  Turn left, and the trail descends gradually.  After another two miles, the trail regains the Bald Mountain trail.  Turn left and in a short distance, the trail reaches a split with signage directing to stay right.  Continue right and the trail will descend then curve around to a ridge where the trail becomes very narrow.

Through this section there is several view points of the Lehigh River and gorge.  The trail loops back to the Bald Mountain trail.  Follow the Bald Mountain trail back to the trail head directly.
