This loop hike is located in Hickory Run State Park.  There is no parking directly at the trailhead.  There is parking along route 534 at McGinley Pond road and it is a few minutes walk along the road to the trailhead.

The Hickory Run Trail drops down from Route 534 and is a wide forest road that parallels Hickory Run (river). In about .8 miles the Hickory Run Trail reaches the Skyline Trail.  Continue straight on the Hickory Run Trail for another .5 miles.  This trail ends and turns into the Fireline Trail at a sharp right turn.

The initial section of this trail is steep but soon the trail reaches a ridge with open views to the left. After about .8 miles, the Fireline Trail parallels the Skyline Trail and eventually become one trail. In about .5 miles, the trail reaches an excellent view point of the Lehigh River and a sharp left turn.  From this point, follow the Skyline trail for about 2 miles where it will end back on the Hickory Run Trail completing the loop.

Turn left on the Hickory Run trail and follow back out to the road and to the parking lot.
