Fall is now officially upon us!  And, as the character and the colors of the season change, it's truly a perfect time to see some of your favorite places in a new light and explore some new places you've not yet seen.

We've compiled a list of 20 adventures that we think you'll find absolutely incredible and are at their best during autumn.  Whether the colors come from bold bigleaf maples, vibrant, orange western larches, fluttering yellow aspen leaves, or willows showing off their red twigs, you are sure to be amazed.  Further, we've also featured a few of Oregon's desert locations that are often just too hot to visit during the summer months or aren't even open to the public until fall and winter.

So, put on your rain jackets, bundle up, and get outside to embrace this new season!

Scroll through the Featured Adventures below for comprehensive exploration guides to each of these incredible fall hikes...

*Please note that Multnomah Falls is currently inaccessible due to the Eagle Creek wildfire, but I-84 is expected to open in the near future and the falls and lodge are expected to be open to visitors.

Unfortunately many of the Columbia Gorge hikes are blocked or restricted due to the Eagle Creek fire. A fire started by an idiot who threw fire crackers off into the gorge. Luckily he was spotted and turned into the police.
Darlene,

These photos are beautiful! Thank you for sharing them on the site.
You might like my shots of Deschutes River Trail fall images. Wasn't sure if the below date you are requesting is today's date, or the date the pictures were taken; these were taken in October 2014.
