The Sawtooth Mountains remain one of the more remote mountain ranges in the Lower 48. That they maintain a low profile is a little bewildering, however, since the backcountry here is as promising and bountiful as any in the West. Summer is upon us, and now is the perfect time to take advantage of the range’s stunning peaks, alpine lakes, and backcountry camping opportunities. Outdoor Project has partnered with Idaho River Publications to cover the region, and here are some of the best adventures in our library. Hot tip: many of them include lakes, most of them go up, and all of them are waiting for you to visit. Once more into the breach, dear friends.
