The Airport Vortex is a popular destination that offers fantastic views, as well as a supposed vortex of energy. Parking is very limited, so be sure to arrive early in the morning or later in the evening to ensure the best chances of finding a spot.

There are a handful of vortexes located around the Sedona area. These sites are said to be concentrated areas of swirling energy that are conducive to healing, meditation and self-exploration. At some sites it is said that energy flows upward out of the earth, while at others the energy spirals downward into the earth. The vortexes are often popular spots to meditate or practice yoga.

Regardless of whether or not you believe in these vortexes, the Airport Vortex does offer stellar views and is a worthwhile stop. A short trail leads to the top of a small slickrock summit where many iconic red rock formations are in view including Courthouse Butte, Bell Rock and Cathedral Rock.
