The Red Knolls Amphitheater is a unique mesa located near Pima, Arizona. This mesa forms a natural amphitheater. In fact, many decades ago pageants were performed at this location. The Red Knolls Amphitheater is managed by the Bureau of Land Management and can be seen from US Highway 70. From the city of Safford take US Highway 70 west for about 16 miles. Take a left onto Bryce-Eden Road which is a dirt road that is drivable by most vehicles. Take Bryce-Eden Road for one mile to reach the Red Knolls.

This clay mesa is to has many holes, caves, and slots which makes it great for exploring. Be on the lookout for bee hives in the formation. There is a rough road that circles the Red Knolls Amphitheater which can be hiked or biked. Unfortunately, the area has broken glass, shell casings, nails, and other trash scattered about.

If you are in the area, it is worth your time to take a short side trip to this interesting mesa.
