This short and easy hike offers great red rock views and is located within the large Posse Grounds Park. In addition to a few hiking trails like this one, Posse Grounds Park offers a wide range of opportunities for recreation. Click here for more information.

This hike begins by the dog park area. There is a small lot here, as well as street parking. If hiking the loop clockwise you’ll begin on the Carruth Trail. This section of the hike passes near West Sedona Elementary School and offers stunning views of the nearby red rocks. There are also a few places to rest including a bench and picnic table with shade shelter.

You’ll then take a right and descend down to the Sunrise Trail. The trail parallels Soldiers Pass Road as it heads back toward the dog park. This section of trail is wider and less rocky than the Carruth Trail which makes for easy hiking or jogging.

After passing the dog park you’ll again arrive at the parking area and the end of the loop.
