Baby Beach in the San Nicolas area is the most popular, and likely the most beautiful, of the beaches in the southern portion of Aruba.
A wide crescent-shaped white sand shoreline circles around an artificial cove that creates a large shallow emerald blue area that is good for wading, swimming and snorkeling. Baby Beach is also the most developed of the southern beaches, with a bar and restaurant on the beach, lots of shade palapas and covered tables along the sand, cabana and lounge chair rentals, and photo opportunities for visitors.
Baby Beach is a destination for tour buses, as well as tourists from the northern area who show up by the car-full throughout the day. Those looking to make use of amenities or grab a drink at the spacious bar can do so adjacent to the paved parking area. Those who may be looking to enjoy the beach at a fair distance from the crowds and families can opt to head to the northern stretch of the beach where crowds are a bit more thin.
A reef at the far end of the cove keeps the waters still, and the general shallow waters make the shoreline great for families bringing small children. The clear water is great for snorkeling, and there may be some fish visible swimming throughout the cove, however the mostly sandy bottom might make snorkeling a little uneventful. Beyond the reefs, the waters become a lot more hazardous, so it's advisable not to venture outside of this cove.
All amenities are available near the parking area, though visitors will be asked to pay for water or make a purchase in order to use the bathrooms.
