Big Flat Campground is a small Forest Service campground located a short distance off Highway 299 and very close to the Trinity River. You’ll notice several white water rafting businesses just across the highway from the campground, and even a nice coffee shop. The campground sits up above the highway enough to avoid road noise and to offer a bit of privacy. River access is still easy enough for those wishing to raft the fantastic Class III rapids here, or to just enjoy the water by fishing or swimming.

The campground itself offers 10 campsites. Amenities are limited, but each site has a picnic table, fire ring and unique Klamath Oven for cooking. There are no hookups or drinking water available, but a vault toilet is located within the campground. Campsites can accommodate small to mid-sized trailers, and of course tents or vans. No reservations are possible; all sites are first come-first served.

Big Flat is open Memorial Day Weekend through Labor Day Weekend.
