Big Meadow Campground is a small campground located up scenic Rock Creek Canyon. A large open meadow borders one side of the campground, while the other side features beautiful Rock Creek that flows under dense forest cover. Large boulders also lie near the creek and are fun for both kids and adults to climb on. Great trout fishing is to be had here as well, and many recreational opportunities lie further up the canyon including hiking at Rock Creek Lake and further into the John Muir Wilderness.

Big Meadow features 11 campsites that are best suited for tents, vans or small-mid size trailers/RVs. No hookups are available, but potable water and flushing toilets are located in the campground. Each campsite has a picnic table, fire ring and bear locker for safe food storage. Note that no reservations are available, campsites are first come-first served.

The campground is open seasonally, usually May through September, but exact dates vary year to year.
