Deep Creek Hot Springs Campground

Deep Creek Hot Springs Campground is a newer camping area and access point to the hike down to Deep Creek Hot Springs.

In addition to day use parking and access to the hot springs trail, Deep Creek Hot Springs Campground offers basic sites - picnic tables, large astroturf square for pitching tents, and composting pit toilets - in a free-for-all fashion set on the scenic hillside. Access to the hot springs is definitely the selling point here, however the campground is relatively new and is adding options such as a reservable private cabin beside its own natural warm spring soaking pool, and spacious glamping tents set on their own isolated hillside.

The camping experience is shaped in part by the neighboring Bowen Ranch campground, which has a less than stellar reputation in the outdoor community for a number of reasons. As a result of this, Deep Creek Hot Springs Campground, which sits nearer to the hot springs, is separated from the neighboring campground with a razor wire chain link fence, which is a bit of a surreal scene at this distant spot in the desert. Although it doesn't affect staying at the campground, it tends to be an odd site regardless.

As camping at the site of the hot springs is not permitted, Deep Creek Hot Springs Campground is the nearest camping accessible by vehicle to the springs - a 1.75 mile trail dropping 970' in elevation leads down to the springs, where visitors will need to swim across the chilly stream to reach the hot pools.

Camping is $15 per person per night (Day use fees for those only looking to park but not camp overnight are $10 per person). Payment can be made online, or exact change is needed and payable upon entering the campground.
