Diaz Lake Campground is a large year round campground located along the western edge of the Diaz Lake Recraetion Area.
Covering 80 acres of the scenic Eastern Sierra landscape about 3 miles south of the town of Lone Pine, Diaz Lake is a popular day use area located right next to Highway 395. The spacious campground contains 100 sites, including tent camping, RV sites, and group sites in several areas including lakeside and a shady tree-filled grove.
The entire campground is set just below the Eastern Sierra range and the Alabama Hills. Sites contain tables and fire rings, and firewood is available for sale at the park entrance.
Despite the large number of sites, the campground occupies a large area of space, so campers won't find themselves cramped together. However, aside from sites inside the grove area, there are no obstacles separating sites, so space is the ony privacy between campers.
The lake is open to motorized boats from May 15th-November (boat access requires an additional fee), which, along with the highway beside the park, may add a little bit of noise to your stay.
While the campground accommodates larger vehicles, there are no RV hookups available.
All information is contained at an info booth at the park's entrance, including a pay station. Park rangers are onsite throughout the peak season. Septic tank cleaning is available for a fee via a mobile serivce whose contact info is posted at the campground info board.
Water spigots (not guaranteed to work during the offseason) and vault bathrooms are located throughout the campground. There are no showers at Diaz Lake Campground.
