Goose Meadows Campground is sandwiched between the Truckee River and Highway 89 just a few miles from the most famous ski resort in the Tahoe area. Originally opened in 1949, Squaw Valley is one of the oldest resorts in Lake Tahoe, as well as the home of the 1960 Winter Olympics.

Along with Granite Flat and Silver Creek, two nearby campgrounds, Goose Meadows is in a perfect location to enjoy the hiking, fishing and other summer activities that the area offers. The campground has 21 non-electric RV campsites lying under the tall pines, each boasting picnic tables, campfire rings, and grills.

Other nearby activities include rafting, biking and explorations of Tahoe City and Truckee. Goose Meadows may not be the prettiest or most secluded campground, but it does offer no-frills car camping within easy reach of a plethora of outdoor activities.

Goose Meadows is open from May 15 through October 11.
