Lying at a nearly 6,000-feet, Grover Hot Springs are located in a beautiful alpine valley south of Lake Tahoe on the eastern edge of the Sierra Nevada. The hot springs remain open year-round, and they offer a scenic mountain setting in which to relax following a summer hike, autumn aspen viewing, or a winter snowshoe excursion in Grover Hot Springs State Park.

The hot springs are in a concrete pool fed by water that is piped from six mineral springs that are located in the valley. Interestingly, the mineral composition of the water contains very little sulfur, so the springs themselves are odorless. The park maintains a hot pool with temperatures between 102 and 104 degrees and a warm swimming pool with cooler temperatures. The mineral content gives the hot spring pool its greenish hue.

Changing rooms and showers are provided at the hot springs and swimming pool facility, and swimming suits must be worn to enter the pools. The pools are open everyday from June through August before they are closed for two weeks of maintenance in September. The pools are closed on Wednesdays during the offseason. If you visit during the offseason, you may want to call ahead to confirm current operating hours. Severe mountain weather will sometimes close the pools. The cost to use the hot springs are $7 for adults and $5 for children. There are no state park parking fees.
