This is a comfortable campground in the forest near the town of Fawnskin on the north shore of the lake. Well removed from the bustle of Big Bear, Hanna Flat is a nice place to relax under the shade of Jeffrey pines during the day and beneath cool starry skies at night.

Amenities include picnic tables, fire rings, drinking water, vault toilets, and trash collection. The sites are large and spread out, great for families and small groups. You can reserve a site up to six months or as late as 24 hours in advance.

It is a bit of a drive to most of the destinations around Big Bear Lake, but there are hiking trails in the vicinity of the campground. You can access the Hanna Flat Trail from camp by walking between sites 54 and 55. This trail connects to Gray's Peak Trail and the Pacific Crest Trail. It is 7.8 miles to the top of Gray's Peak and back. There is also a network of unmarked trails that begin from the campground and meander through the woods to Coxcomb Creek.

Note: Hanna Flat Campground is typically open from the end of April through the end of October. Call 877.444.6777 for specific seasonal dates.
