Hayden Flat Campground offers a selection of nice campsites just off Highway 299 within the Shasta-Trinity National Forest. The campsites are located just across the highway from the Trinity River, which can still be accessed easily by those looking to white water raft, fish or swim. Sites are well shaded, but not super private as you will still likely have a neighbor or two visible.

The campground is open Memorial Day Weekend through Labor Day Weekend. No reservations are possible – all campsites are first come, first served. Amenities are limited, but drinking water and vault toilets are located throughout the campground. Each campsite also has a picnic table, fire ring and bear box for safe food storage. Some sites even have a unique Klamath Oven for cooking.

There are also three group sites available at Hayden Flat. Unlike the individual sites, these group sites can and should be reserved in advance. Click here for more info.
