Howards Gulch Campground is a small, quaint campground located in a tree lined gulch just off Highway 139 in the Modoc National Forest. It features a handful of campsites suitable for small or mid sized trailers or tent campers. There is a short hiking path here and you’ll find a few informative plaques about birds as this is one of several Basin and Range Birding Trail stops within the Modoc National Forest.

The campground is open seasonally as weather permits, usually mid May through Late October. At each campsite you’ll find a picnic table, fire ring and BBQ grill. There are also vault toilets and drinking water available within the campground.

Please note that there are no reservations possible at Howards Gulch Campground, all campsites are first come, first served.
