Mineral Bar Campground is a 16-site camping area adjacent to the Mineral Bar Day Use Area of Auburn Ravine State Recreation Area.

The campground sits beside the North Fork of the American River, and there are several access points and walking paths that lead right to the water's edge. The campground is strictly first come first serve with no reservations available. Each site has a picnic table and fire pit, and vault toilets serve the campground.

There are two distinct areas within the campground. The first lies down the entrance road, where sites are spread beneath the tree canopy, covering sites in shade, with camping areas either next to the hillside or down a slight walking slope and on a flat beside the river. The second is beside Iowa Hill Road, where sites are more exposed and there is little privacy between them.

A couple day use areas are located amongst the camping sites, and an old walking bridge offers walking access to other places in the day use area such as the walking access boat launch and the Pennyweight Trail which follows the northern bank of the river.

Sites are $28 each night, with an additional charge for an extra vehicle. Dogs are allowed on leash. There is no water available at the campground, so be prepared with your own. RVs will have a very hard time navigating the hairpin turns of Iowa Hill Road leading to the river from the town of Colfax, and the parking areas and turnarounds inside the campground won't accommodate oversize vehicles.
