Morro Strand is a popular state beach that runs from just north of Morro Rock to the town of Cayucos, nearly three miles north. The campground provides a wonderful place to enjoy the beach while enjoying access to the amenities and recreation opportunities of the Morro Bay area.

The campground is basically one long loop road that runs parallel to the beach with three rows of campsites. The sites closest to the beach are great for both tent campers and RVs up to 24 feet. There are four larger sites for up to 40-foot RVs along the beach side (A, B, C and D). The sites on the center island are unusual in that they have parking on either side of the island, which makes these great sites for groups with multiple  vehicles. Both tents and RVs up to 24 feet are fine here. The third row is primarily for RVs; most have full hookups, and all have large concrete pads. There are restrooms in the campground, but no showers.

Reservations are essential here, especially during spring break and summer. The full hookup sites book up fast, as do the beach side sites.
