Niguel Botanical Preserve has a lofty purpose: to showcase drought-resistant, garden-worthy plants that are adapted to the Southern California region. To do this, the preserve displays plants, trees, and shrubs from global areas with similar climates – Australia, Africa, South America, Mediterranean, and the local California/Mexico region. The result is a beautiful park that incorporates elements to delight visitors of all ages. Thirty-four miles of walking trails wind throughout the 18 acres, with two thousand plant species are on display. Benches are spread frequently alongside the pathways, allowing for moments of quiet meditation, some with killer views. Both Boy and Girl Scouts have activity areas with fun garden follies that will perk up the interest of little ones.

The preserve is open daily from sunrise to sunset. Dogs are welcome but should be kept on a leash. Please take care to pick up after them.
