Old Shady Rest Campground is located just a short walk or drive from downtown Mammoth Lakes, California. The convenient location makes it a great spot to stay for those looking to be close to town and other attractions such as Mammoth Mountain. The campground is open seasonally, usually late May through late September.

Old Shady Rest Campground offers 47 campsites. All sites are nestled within the lovely Jeffrey Pine forest and do indeed offer a good amount of shade. The sites accommodate anything from tents and vans to larger trailers and RVs. Note that no hookups are available. Every site has a picnic table, fire ring and bear-proof locker for food storage.

Flushing toilets are available in the campground, as well as potable water. There are no showers. A dump station is located just across the street at New Shady Rest Campground.
