Virtually every American is familiar with the classic view of Half Dome from Yosemite Valley; however, far fewer venture deeper into Yosemite National Park to the Tioga Pass. Here, at Olmsted Point, visitors get a unique perspective down the Tenaya Canyon to Half Dome's northeastern face. Views from Olmsted Point also include Tenaya Lake and extend to Mount Conness, which at 12,590 feet is Yosemite's fourth highest* peak.

Olmsted Point is named after famed landscape architect and nature conservationist Frederick Law Olmsted Jr.

* At 13,114 feet, Mount Lyell is Yosemite's highest point, followed by Mount Dana (13,057 feet) and Mount Gibbs (12,764 feet).
