Pigeon Point is a small USFS campground located along the Trinity River, just off Highway 299. Although the campsites lack privacy and feature noise from the nearby road, they make up for it by being in a prime location along the river. The boat ramp at Pigeon Point is a popular put in location, and the river just downstream offers some excellent class III whitewater rafting. Even those that don’t plan to raft can enjoy dipping their toes in the cool waters of the Trinity or casting a line and fishing.

There are only 7 campsites at Pigeon Point. They are best suited for tents, but a small trailer could fit in a couple of the sites. A picnic table and fire ring is provided at each campsite, but no other amenities are available other than a vault toilet.

One very nice group campsite is also available. It features a large shade shelter, picnic tables, fire rings and grills, as well as space for several camp trailers. Unlike the single sites, the group site can and should be reserved in advance. Click here for more information.
