Scott Mountain Campground is located off Highway 3 at the Scott Mountain Summit. The campground lies near the edge of the Trinity Alps Wilderness, and the Pacific Crest Trail passes just beside the campsites. In fact, during summer months you are likely to see a few thru-hikers wander into the campground to use the vault toilet.

The campground itself is quite small and very bare bones. The price is right however as camping here is completely free. There are a total of 7 campsites that can accommodate tent campers, vans and very small trailers (a recommended 15-foot max).

Scott Mountain Campground is open year round. There is no drinking water available, but a vault toilet is located here. Each campsite contains a picnic table and fire ring with a grate. Campsites are first-come, first-served.
