Shady Rest Park is a sizable park located just a few short minutes from downtown Mammoth Lakes, California. During the summer months the area functions as a typical park, but in the winter months it is often used as a staging area for snow play including cross country skiing and snowmobiling.

Shady Rest is tucked away and surrounded by national forest land on all sides, one would never guess they are so close to town! This national forest access makes the park a great beginning location for those looking to explore on the many forest roads starting from here.

A paved pathway connects the park with downtown Mammoth Lakes and is perfect for cyclists, joggers and hikers. The park itself offers many recreational opportunities including a great 18-hole disc golf course, volleyball courts, basketball and large fields for baseball, soccer and more.

The park also has a playground for children, and a small skate park that teens will surely enjoy. A large covered picnic area is also found at Shady Rest.
