Nestled in a beautiful aspen grove in the Toiyabe National Forest, Sorensen's Resort is the centerpiece of Hope Valley. With over 20 cabins of all shapes, sizes and rates, Sorensen's has something for anyone looking for a charming and unique resort.

Many of the cabins were originally built in 1926 by Martin Sorensen, a Danish immigrant, on the site of an abandoned fishing lodge. Originally only a store, service station, and dance floor, the land was bought by John and Patty Brissenden in 1982. They set to work restoring the old cabins as well as building new facilities and lodging. Currently, Sorensen's offers accommodations ranging from single and double occupancy bed and breakfast cottages to larger, group-ready log cabins and full homes, many of which are pet friendly. The resort also includes a full service restaurant, a sauna, a children's trout pond, and various gazebos, hammocks, and other peaceful spots to stretch out. Cabins range from $125 for a one-bedroom to $475 for a full house. Prices change depending on the season.

Additionally, the resort organizes many events and activities in the area in collaboration with Hope Valley Outdoors, including fishing, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, and environmental activities. The resort is also a favorite for attendees of the annual Death Ride. While prices can be a bit high depending on the season, Sorensen's Resort's rustic cabins and homes offer a sense of serenity above and beyond most resorts in the Lake Tahoe Area.
