Spooner's Cove is one of the most popular areas in Montana de Oro State Park. Located near the tiny store and visitor center and the Islay Creek Campground, this beach is a wonderful place to hang out. There are a few rocky points which provide easy climbing and exploring opportunities and plenty of wide open sandy beach to set out some chairs and a blanket and enjoy the beautiful ocean. Combining some relaxing time in Spooner's Cove with a hike around the Bluffs Trail nearby makes for an outstanding day at this relatively little-visited park.
