The Stanfield Marsh Boardwalk takes visitors through a portion of the nearly 150-acre Stanfield Marsh Wildlife and Waterfowl Habitat. An enjoyable and easy walk, the boardwalk is suitable for anyone including bicyclists too. The only downside to this walk is that it parallels Big Bear Boulevard and therefore has a fair amount of traffic noise.

This protected piece of land is home to many kinds of wildlife, and is an especially great area to watch for waterfowl. Early morning or later evening are the best hours for birdwatching.

You’ll walk past a wooden gazebo that marks the start of the boardwalk. There are two sections of boardwalk, interrupted by a small segment of land. The hike takes you along the edge of the marsh. Water levels in the marsh vary, but in recent years the levels have been very low.

Hiking both sections of the boardwalk makes for a walk that is just over one mile in length round trip.
