Tannery Gulch Campground is located along the shores of Trinity Lake, just off Highway 3 and about 12 miles north of Weaverville. It is a popular campground that offers four loops of campsites. Sites are nestled underneath tall pines, firs and oaks that offer a good amount of shade. Many of the campsites aren’t incredibly private, but there are some that provide a bit of space between yourself and your neighbor.

The campsites themselves are suitable for anything from tents and vans to larger trailers and RVs. Each site has a paved parking spur, as well as a picnic table and fire ring. No hookups are available, but drinking water and restrooms with flushing toilets can be found throughout the campground. Reservations can be made in advance by clicking here.

The main attraction at Tannery Gulch is, of course, the lake. Many of the campsites here offer a slight view of Trinity Lake, and lake access is easy. There is a boat ramp here that is open to camper use only, as well as a swim beach that is a great spot for families to enjoy. Note that the current low lake levels (as of June 2021) may affect lake access.
