These are remote campsites that require a high-clearance vehicle and likely four-wheel drive depending on road conditions.  They can be accessed via a dirt service road from Angeles Oaks or the Morton Peak Trailhead. No reservations are required, and there is no fee. However, you also won't find water, restrooms, picnic tables, fire rings, or trash pickup. This is essentially primitive dispersed camping at roughly designated sites. While the Forest Service website states that there are five sites with picnic tables and fire rings, there are actually three, possibly four sites along the dirt road that is a spur off the main road where the campground is located. None have tables or fire rings.

Along the main service road, there are several potential campsites. These are easier to access because they do not require navigation of the spur off of the main service road, but the main service road (1N12) is also a dirt road that requires the same type of vehicle. The campsites on the spur have great views of Anderson and Keller Peak and Redlands/Highland. The campsites off of the main service road are along a meadow with ample trees for shade.

Contact the Mill Creek Ranger Station for any fire restrictions and more information at 909.382.2882. Dogs are allowed, and there is a 14-day maximum stay. For nearby hiking, be sure to check out the Santa Ana River Trail to Angeles Oaks.
