Located near the base of the Eastern Sierra about 9 miles south of the town of Big Pine, Tinnemaha Campground is set in a very quiet corner of the Owens River Valley and feels distant from the rest of the world.

Run by Inyo County Parks, the campground has a variety of camp sites - tables set alongside large pull outs, creekside areas, and a few sites set further away from the central camping area, where it feels like you might be camping at the edge of the mountainous landscape. While most sites can be reserved beforehand through Reserve America, several sites are reserved for walk-ins only. Tinnemaha Campground also has large group sites.

Each site has a table and fire pit. The campground is serviced by several vault toilets located around the spacious camping area. Tinnemaha Creek provides a relaxing scene for fishing or wading during the hotter seasons, and the sound of flowing water can be heard throughout the campground at night.

Access is down a paved road that comes to an end at the campground, however those with more capable vehicles can trace the dirt roads west from the campground that fork toward several creeks and end at trailheads.

There is no running water or amenities. Nearest amenities are located 9 miles north in the town of Big Pine.

While there is no RV septic servicing onsite, a phone number posted at the info station connects callers to a mobile service who will come and drain your tank for a fee.

Camp fees are $14 nightly.
