Located in the northeast corner of Pfeiffer Big Sur State Park, the Valley View and Pfeiffer Falls Trails provide big vistas and a humble, tranquil waterfall in a beautiful redwood forest setting. Both trails share the same trailhead and meander through redwood forest before climbing a steady and steep but short hill to a trail junction. From the junction head left for Valley View; right for Pfeiffer Falls.

The Valley View Trail continues climbing to the top of a sub-ridge that ends at a viewing point overlooking the Big Sur River Valley and the Pacific Ocean. Across the valley on the opposite hillside are the scorched scars left from the Pfeiffer Fire that burned in December, 2013.

The Pfeiffer Falls Trail descends into the Pfeiffer Redwood Creek drainage and a serene redwood grove. A nice surprise waits at the end of the trail in Pfeiffer Falls: you'll find a 60-foot waterfall cascading into the Pfeiffer Redwood Creek Canyon.
