Vogelsang High Sierra Camp offers many different ways to enjoy the beautiful views of the High Sierra in a more secluded area of Yosemite National Park. In its entirety, the camp has a dining area, a bathroom, and a seperate backpacker's camp.

The camp has a tent cabin section complete with beds, wool blankets, and potbelly stove. There are 12 tent cabins that can accommodate 42 individuals. Perspective campers can secure their spot through a lottery that opens in October. Reserving a spot in one of the tent cabins gives the camper access to fresh hot meals and purified water. Some examples are steak, pasta, and salmon.

Furthermore, the backpackers camp allows people with wilderness permits to sleep overnight in the area without reservations. With flat, durable surfaces, access to a bathroom, and designated bear boxes, the backpacker's camp is a great place for tired travels to take a break. Backpackers do not have access to the purified water at the high sierra camp, but they can purify their own water with Fletcher Lake and Fletcher Creek water.

Vogelsang High Sierra camp is accessible by hiking the trails or mule ride. At 10,300 feet, many of the trails to reach the camp feature significant switchbacks. However, the journey to Vogelsang High Sierra Camp is worth it. There are multiple lakes that are within strolling distance from the camp. There is a beautiful cascade that connects Townsley Lake and Fletcher Lake. Moreover, yellow bellied marmots scurry around the area as well as other wildlife. Adventurers can also take a short stroll up toward Vogelsang Lake, find a beautiful view of Yosemite Valley, and watch the sunset.
