Sitting between Roaring Fork Campground and Big Rock Campground, Moraine Loop Campground is the third and middle distinct campground in the Lake Granby's Arapaho Bay Campground complex. Perched just above the southeast arm of the reservoir, the campground provides 30 campsite with Colorado's Front Range mountains as a stunning backdrop. The campsites all provide a picnic table, fire rings/grills and gravel pads for setting up your tent(s). If you need potable water, however, you'll need to venture less than a quarter mile up the road to Roaring Fork Campground, or be sure to bring all the water you'll need.

From the campground, you can venture deep into the Indian Peaks Wilderness via the Arapaho Pass Trail, Cascade Creek Trail or Buchanan Pass Trail, all of which depart from the Monarch Lake Trailhead. Or, if you head up to Arapaho Bay: Roaring Fork Campground, you can also venture up the there-and-back Roaring Fork Trail - an easy jaunt to see pristine Rocky Mountain cascades.

The state's third largest body of water, Lake Granby was created when the upper Colorado River was harnessed by the Granby Dam in 1950, a part of the Bureau of Reclamation's Colorado-Big Thompson Project. Siting at an elevation of 8,280 feet, the reservoir is stocked annually with trout and kokanee salmon.
