Rocky Mountain National Park's patchwork of remarkable geology and abundant wildlife make it one of Colorado's best playgrounds. The Aspenglen Campground is just inside the Fall River entrance to the park and offers a wide range of amenities including firewood, well-lit and clean bathrooms, and knowledgeable and friendly on-site rangers.

This campground is privy to excellent wildlife viewing for such an accessible location, and it is not uncommon to hear an elk bugling nearby. Bighorn sheep, deer, bears, and a myriad of birds reside within the park and are frequently spotted. Douglas fir, ponderosa pine, lodgepole pine, and the occasional Engelmann spruce grow about the campground and offer ample shade, and wildflowers ignite the open meadows with colors in the springtime.

Aspenglen Campground offers 53 sites. Most are roomy car and tent sites that can accommodate RVs up to 30 feet, though the campground does not have hookups or a dump station. There are six walk-in sites along Fall River that are ideal for those who are looking for a little more privacy. With excellent access to Estes Park and the boundless opportunities for adventuring, this campground is an ideal launchpad for it all.

Note: Aspenglen Campground is open from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day weekend. Go to Recreation.gov for reservations or call the National Park Ranger Station at 970.586.1206 for seasonal date specifics.
