This fine campground is located just a short walk from Manitou Lake and about a 10-minutes drive from the town of Woodland Park. The sites are quite large and spread out under the ponderosa pines. There are two concentric one-way loop roads and, as in many campgrounds, some of the finest sites are along the outside perimeter with views of the meadows and surrounding hills.

This is a typical national forest campground with plenty of vault toilets and potable water spigots. While the sites are generous, the open forest does not offer much privacy. This campground generally has sites available, but it is always a good idea to arrive early or to make reservations.

Manitou Lake is nearby with fishing, picnicking and paddling, making this a great campground for families with kids. Excellent fishing and tubing/kayaking are about a half hour drive away in the South Platte River, and Woodland Park has lots of services and supplies.
