Cow Creek North Campground is located just north of its larger sister campground, Cow Creek South Campground, on the northeastern shore of Green Mountain Reservoir in the shadow of Colorado's Gore Mountain Range.

With 15 campsites and only vault toilets, the campground is quite modest. Each campsite provides a picnic table and a fire grill/ring, but there is no access to potable water or even a boat ramp to access the reservoir. Boaters and anglers can head to the other side of the reservoir to put-in via a boat ramp in Heeney and find other basic provisions in case anything was forgotten at home.

The reservoir itself, caused by the damming of the Blue River in 1937, is now stocked annually with rainbow trout, lake trout, brown trout and kokanee.

Note: Cow Creek North Campground is typically closed from early May through the end of September. For details call the Dillon Ranger Station at 970.468.5400.
