Edge of Time is a classic sport route in the popular Jurassic Park climbing area near Lily Lake in Estes Park Valley. The climb is renowned as one of the most photogenic single-pitch lines anywhere. It is worth doing for the climbing alone, but you should definitely bring a camera. The difficulty is 5.9, and the hardest moves are all low on the route. Balance-dependent slab moves characterize most of the technique, and every step feels especially exposed on the narrow arête that the route parallels. For those uncomfortable with clipping bolts, the route can be top-roped from fixed chains by scrambling up the opposite end of the rock feature. Top out the finish to stand on the Edge of Time and take in the panorama of Rocky Mountains, including the 14,259-foot Long's Peak across the valley.

Estes Park Valley is home to hundreds of other fantastic climbs, and the town is a gateway to Rocky Mountain National Park. Boulderers, sport climbers, trad climbers, and alpinists are all equally at home here. After climbing on the Edge of Time, spend anywhere from a weekend to an entire season exploring the rest of this high-altitude climbing mecca.
