With 11 pond hockey rinks and one enormous public skating rink, Evergreen Lake is a unique gem that isn’t too far from the Denver metro area.

Though the lake may be packed on the weekends, the ice is so expansive that the crowd is hardly noticeable. In fact, Evergreen Park and Recreation District boasts that it is the world’s largest groomed outdoor ice rink. However, be mindful of cracks in the ice even though it is maintained.

The lake is exposed to the elements, and at times it can get quite chilly. Those who are looking for a break from the cold can kick back in the Evergreen Lake House, which holds a concession area, a stone fireplace, and other skate rental amenities.

Call 720.880.1391 in advance to ensure that the ice rink is open. Hours and days of operation are subject to change due to changing ice conditions. The rink is open from December through February every year.
