Located 10 minutes from the ski resort town of Vail, the Gore Creek Campground is centrally located at 8,700-feet among the scenery and recreational opportunities in the White River National Forest.

The campground, nestled among a mix of pine and aspen, features 16 sites for RVs under 35-feet and eight walk-in tent sites. All sites are $20 per night. The facility has vault toilets, but no water water or RV hookups. However, Gore Creek runs alongside the campground, and each site features a fire ring, picnic table, and a storage container to keep food away from black bears in the area.

Nearby recreation includes trailheads into the Eagle’s Nest Wilderness for hiking and horseback riding. There are mountain bike trails throughout the valley, and the campground is also located  adjacent to the bike path that takes road cyclists to the top of Vail Pass and into Summit County. Fishing opportunities are abundant in Gore Creek or at one of the many alpine lakes in the region. Hunting is also a popular activity within the region during the fall season.

The Gore Creek Campground is open from early May until early October.
