Peaceful Valley Campground is a small camping option just southeast of Colorado's Rocky Mountain National Park on Highway 72. Here you'll find 17 campsites distributed on the north bank of the lovely Middle St. Vrain Creek. Amenities are limited to vault toilets, potable water, picnic tables and fire grates. Several of the sites are available for reservation, though last-minute planners will have plenty of opportunities with first-come, first-served sites as well. While there are no hookups or dump stations, RVs are welcome, and there are sites that are close enough to each other to make RV camping a better fit. Other sites are distributed a little more generously and thus are more suitable for tent traffic. There is one site that is perfect for groups of up to 15 people, though groups will be just as content if they can grab neighboring sites.
In addition to its proximity to the southeast entrance to Colorado's Rocky Mountain National Park, Paradise Valley Campground has several nearby trail options for hikers and mountain bikers; check out the Buchanan Pass Trail for one example. Alternately, hang out a little closer to camp and throw a few lines into the creek for cutthroats, browns, and rainbows. With amazing Front Range views and activities so nearby, Paradise Valley Campground is a great choice for camping along the Peak-to-Peak Highway.
Note: Remember that this is bear country, so be sure to store food and hygiene items in your car or in bear boxes.
