Rosey Lane Campground is named for the popular rapid that roars right near the campsites, and a highlight of this campground are the joyful whoops that rafters and kayakers make as they tumble down the Class III waters of the Taylor River. One of  the nicest and most in-demand of the campgrounds along the river between Gunnison and Crested Butte, Rosey Lane is a very nice place to use as a base for exploring this very beautiful area.

Rosey  Lane is one of the few campgrounds in the area that take reservations, and this makes finding a walk-up campsite a bit more difficult. The effort of making advance reservations or arriving early to nab a first-come, first-served spot is worth it for a spot here. Typical amenities include the vault toilets and drinking water (from spigots, not hand pumps). Many of  the sites have concrete pads, and the roads are paved and in good condition. There are a lot of trees for shade, and the river is a constant song in the background, easily drowning out the little bit of road noise during the day. There is one site with electric hookups; the rest have none.

The fishing on the Taylor is legendary, and the whitewater is great Class III stuff. A few outfitters rent inflatable kayaks and take groups out on kayaks or rafts every day.
