Nestled between the Arkansas River and charming Downtown Salida you’ll find Riverside Park and the Salida River Trail. This park features many amenities including plenty of green space and trees, a playground, benches and picnic tables, restrooms and even a bouldering wall. But the main attraction here is the river.

The Arkansas River winds its way through Salida and is extremely popular for swimming, boating and fishing. On any given summer day you’ll likely also find kids surfing on the small rapids and teenagers floating down this stretch of river on inner tubes.

The Salida River Trail follows the Arkansas for a short duration and provides a nice mellow, paved pathway to enjoy the beautiful scenery. Along this trail you’ll find many places to sit and rest to enjoy the river. In addition, there are a number of local shops and restaurants located right next to the pathway that make for a wonderful urban pit stop.
