Right at the edge of Granby Dam, Sunset Point Campground is nestled under a grove of logepole pines on the southern shore of Colorado's Lake Granby. The campground serves as a perfect base camp for enjoying the reservoir's fishing, sailing, kayaking, and motorboat activities that make the body of water such a popular summer destination. It also serves as an ideal access point to Rocky Mountain National Park, with its western entrance 11 miles and 15 minutes to the north. The campground provides a boat ramp for access to the reservoir, 25 well-maintained campsites (each with picnic table(s), fire ring/grill, and food hangers for keeping edibles out of reach from the occassional passing bear), vault toilets and potable water.

The state's third largest body of water, Lake Granby was created when the upper Colorado River was harnessed by the Granby Dam in 1950, a part of the Bureau of Reclamation's Colorado-Big Thompson Project. Siting at an elevation of 8,280 feet, the reservoir is stocked annually with trout and kokanee salmon.

Other campgrounds on the reservoir include:

Sunset Point Campground is managed by American Land and Leisure and is operated on a first-come, first-served basis. Call 801.226.3564 for more details.
