Situated on the picturesque north shore of Green Mountain Reservoir, the Willows Campground features 35 sites that are available on a first-come, first-served basis from May through September.

Each site is $13.00 a night and features a fire ring as well as a picnic table. There are vault toilets in the facility. Maximum RV length is 25-feet, and there are no hookups or water.

Green Mountain Reservoir (7,950 feet), is located along Highway 9 16 miles north of Silverthorne in Summit County. It is popular with anglers seeking rainbow trout, brown trout, lake trout, and sockeye salmon. Boaters can take motorized and human-powered watercraft onto the lake and enjoy views of the surrounding Gore Range mountains. Boats must be launched from the Heeney Marina, a 10-minute drive around the lake from the campground.

Built in 1942, the Green Mountain Dam is one of five power plants in the Colorado-Big Thompson Project, which generates power for 60,000 homes annually. The project also diverts water from Colorado’s western slope to cities on the Front Range, where the majority of the state’s population resides.
