Moccasin Creek State Park is located in a prime spot along the shore of Lake Burton in northeastern Georgia. The 32 acre park is home to a campground and amenities such as a picnic shelter, playground, fishing pier and boat ramp for lake access. Of course the main attraction is 2,775 acre Lake Burton - a prime spot for boating, water skiing and fishing. During the summer months kayaks, canoes and SUPs can be rented here. Other attractions include the Lake Burton Trout Hatchery, and nearby hiking trails such as Hemlock Falls.

The campground at Moccasin Creek State Park consists of 53 sites. Most sites can accommodate large trailers and RVs. Water and electric hookups are also available. If you are looking for a campground with rustic and secluded sites, Moccasin Creek may not be for you. Most of the campsites here lack privacy and are secluded feeling. However, the close proximity to Burton Lake may be worth the sacrifice.

Note that, as of October 2020, the fish hatchery and boat ramp area is currently closed for construction. A reopening is tentatively planned for February 2021.
