Kanaha Beach Park had a variety of uses - popular amongst surfers and windsurfers, camping, 2 miles of sandy beach, paddle sports enthusiasts, and even the park's volleyball courts are frequently busy. With views of the west Maui mountains in the near distance, colorful water, and easy access to the town of Kahului, this park stays pretty busy with crowds pretty consistent throughout the day and year round.

With its near proximity to the airport - maybe just five minutes away - the downside of the beach here may be its noise with the coming and going of passing planes. Though this proximity has also worked well for us for a final outdoor shower rinse off after checking out of our hotel and spending the morning at the beach before boarding our plane for the flight out of Maui.

The kite surfing here is huge. You can browse and rent kite surf boards or schedule lessons from the Maui Kitesurf Company located at the west end of the park.

Kanaha Beach Park is open daily from 7am to 7pm. Trash, bathrooms, and water are all available throughout the park.
