Located between Diamond Head and Hawai'i Kai, Kawaiku'i Beach is a quiet park right off Kalanianaole Highway. Situated in a neighborhood along Maunalua Bay, the parking area is small and easy to miss. However, there is also plenty of open green space adjacent to the calm waters of Oahu's protected south shore. The beach itself is small, narrow and rocky. The near-shore waters are perhaps not the best for swimming, as the reef runs shallow along the coast here. Instead, fishermen can often be seen casting from the shore. Surfers can also be seen out where the swell breaks on the reef at two popular sites known as Manantan's and Tunas and Turtles. Paddleboarding is also popular at this beach as access is simple and the water is generally calm. Due to the shallow water and presence of the reef, be sure not to fall! In the evening, gorgeous sunset views can be seen, casting all sorts of colorful hues onto the nearby Koko and Hanauma Bay craters.

The park is perfect for a picnic at one of the many tables or under the shelter. Many large trees also provide plenty of shade on the grassy lawn. There are also restrooms and a freshwater rinse shower available for use.
