Koke'e Campground lies just past the main collection of buildings at the heart of Koke'e State Park. The campground is the park's most accessible, and the only one that doesn't require a hike or a 4WD car to access.

The campground, sitting amongst the oft-wet foliage at the high elevation point of the drive up Koke'e / Waimea State Parks, has 9 spots. Several are more exposed along a winding road through the campground, while others tend to be more private amidst the park's dense foliage. Some of these sites lie up a short hill from a central parking area, where campers must carry their gear to reach the sites.

With only 9 sites available, the campground is a popular destination in Kauai's mountainous interior, so reservations should be made well in advance.

Several water spigots and a single bathroom building with flush toilets and showers serve the campground. Permits to stay at Kokee Campground must be purchased in advance through the State of Hawaii's Department of Land and Natural Resources website. Visitors to the campground should be prepared for wet conditions, regardless of the time of year they stay.
